Guest Reviews
A 4.9 star average across more than 600 Airbnb reviews of our four homes. Here are a few recent ones, word for word.
Probably one of the best hosts I’ve had since being with Airbnb. He was very responsive, helped provide alternative ideas, because of the hurricane canceling most of my plans. Great recommendations for local restaurants. I will definitely be back.
Me and my girlfriend stayed at this place for about 3 or 4 days because of the hurricane and we ended up having to leave and get a hotel. It was a very clean place he communicated very well and definitely would be back again.
This was honestly our best Airbnb experience ever! The view from the room was absolutely amazing, and the hotel area was beautiful, private, and surrounded by lakes and gorgeous golf grounds.
Christian's place was very well taken care of and in a great location, more than worth the money for everything we got, anything is near the location and easy to get to, I would definitely stay in this location again, don't have one negative thing to say about his place.
We had a very short stay, but I already know where to stay next time. The place is very nice and cozy, and Christian is super attentive and kind. We felt at home. I definitely recommend it.
This place is beautiful and clean. The beach is close by the house. Christian is very kindly and responsive. We could only stay 1 day for this trip but it was a great time. We’ll definitely be back and hopefully stay longer.

Things to do
What our guests ask about most, with a local tip for each. Hours, prices and events change, so check the official links before you go.

Destin · Choctawhatchee Bay by the Destin Bridge
Crab Island isn't really an island. It's a wide, shallow sandbar on the bay side of the Destin Bridge, and you can only reach it by boat. On summer days, boats anchor in the clear, shallow water while people wade, float and relax beside them. Most guests rent a pontoon from a Destin Harbor marina or book a trip with a licensed captain who handles the driving and anchoring.
Local tip: The East Pass channel beside the sandbar has strong tidal currents and heavy boat traffic. Stay on the sandbar near your boat, keep kids in life jackets, and never try to swim out from shore.

Destin Harbor
Destin Harbor is lined with fishing boats, and there are two main ways to head out. Party boats are shared trips where you buy a spot on board, and rods, bait and tackle are usually provided, which makes them an easy family choice. Private charters reserve the whole boat for your group, so the captain can plan around what you want, from a few hours near shore to a full day offshore.
Local tip: Book ahead in summer and ask what's included, such as fishing licenses, fish cleaning and the customary crew tip. If anyone gets seasick, take a remedy before you leave the dock.

Destin Harbor · next to the Destin Bridge
HarborWalk Village runs along the Destin Harbor boardwalk with waterfront restaurants, bars and shops right beside the charter fleet. It makes an easy evening out: watch the boats come in, have dinner on the water, then browse the shops. Many dolphin cruises, sunset sails and fishing trips leave from these docks, and the village hosts live music and special events during the warmer months.
Local tip: Check the event calendar before you go, since fireworks nights and festivals change each season. Parking fills up on busy evenings, so arrive early and read the posted parking rules.

Destin · off US-98
For a quieter beach day without leaving Destin, Henderson Beach State Park protects a stretch of tall white dunes and natural shoreline. Boardwalks lead over the dunes to the sand, and a nature trail winds through coastal scrub where you may spot shorebirds and other wildlife. Picnic pavilions, restrooms and a shower station make it easy to stay for the whole day.
Local tip: As of October 2026, Florida State Parks lists a $6 per vehicle fee, hours of 8 a.m. to sunset, and a required day-use reservation. Check the park page for current notices before you go.

Sandestin · Miramar Beach
The Village of Baytowne Wharf sits on Choctawhatchee Bay inside the Sandestin resort. Colorful shops, restaurants and bars surround a pond with boardwalks, and the events plaza hosts free concerts, movie nights and holiday celebrations through the year. The village is separate from Sandestin's beaches and golf courses, and it's an easy walk from Bahia Breeze at Grand Sandestin.
Local tip: Check the Baytowne Wharf events calendar before you go. Many concerts and holiday events are free, while festivals like the fall beer festival need tickets.

Miramar Beach · along US-98
These are two separate shopping stops close to each other in Miramar Beach. Grand Boulevard is an open-air town center with boutiques, national brands, sit-down restaurants and the AMC Boulevard 10 movie theater, which makes it a nice place for dinner and a stroll. Silver Sands Premium Outlets is a large outlet center with more than 100 stores, including Columbia, Levi's and Kate Spade.
Local tip: Plan them as two stops rather than one walk. Check each website for current hours, since holiday and seasonal hours change.

Destin · US-98 East
Big Kahuna's is Destin's summer water park, with more than 40 water attractions including tall slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and splash areas for younger kids. The adventure side adds mini golf and the Skycoaster. It's a good pick for a hot day when everyone wants a break from the beach and a few hours of slides and splashing.
Local tip: The water park is seasonal and was closed for the season as of mid-October 2026. Check the official site for opening dates, tickets and ride height requirements, which vary by attraction.

Okaloosa Island · Fort Walton Beach
Gulfarium is a marine park on Okaloosa Island with dolphins, sea lions, harbor seals, penguins, alligators and sea turtles. Its newest habitat, Dolphin Oasis, covers about two acres of natural-style lagoons with seating for around 480 guests at dolphin presentations. The park also runs a rescue and rehabilitation center, so kids learn about local sea life while they watch.
Local tip: Hands-on animal encounters, such as getting in the water with dolphins, are separate experiences with their own booking, so reserve ahead. Check the daily presentation schedule and arrive early for good seats.

Destin · Legendary Drive off US-98
Destin Commons is an open-air shopping center with palm-lined streets, string lights and a clock tower at its center. You'll find stores like Sephora, Lululemon and H&M alongside casual spots such as Kilwins and Gulf Coast Burgers Co. Families can relax on The Lawn, look for the outdoor murals or catch a movie, and leashed dogs are welcome.
Local tip: Evenings are a nice time to visit, when the lights come on. Check the events page for the farmers market and holiday events.
Golf
From bayside championship layouts to a quick nine, there is a tee time for every game. Call the pro shop or book online, and confirm rates and hours before you go.
18 holes · Par 72 · up to 7,099 yds · Semi-private
Designed by Fred Couples and Gene Bates, Kelly Plantation winds along Choctawhatchee Bay on the site of an old turpentine plantation, and some of the original pines still carry their tapping scars. Hole 4 opens onto a sweeping bay view where dolphins are a regular sight, and eleven lakes come into play, the largest wrapping holes 9 and 18. Expect GPS carts, a full practice area and premium rental clubs, which makes it an easy pick if you flew in without your bag.
3 public courses · 54 holes · Resort
Sandestin runs three courses open to the public: The Links, the resort's original course; Baytowne, a friendly all-levels course beside Baytowne Wharf; and Raven, a par 71 that threads through marsh, wetlands and pine forest and is the one serious golfers ask about. A fourth course, Burnt Pine, is members only. Bahia Breeze guests are just minutes from the first tee.
18 holes · Par 72 · up to 6,840 yds · Semi-private
A Robert Walker design from 1996, Regatta Bay is classic target golf: island-like fairways, bulkheaded lakes, streams and bright white bunkers on an 800-acre community off Choctawhatchee Bay. Five sets of tees keep it fair for every level, and the lakefront clubhouse restaurant is a relaxed spot for lunch after the round.
18 holes · Bob Cupp design · Public tee times
Tucked inside a gated community on the shore of Choctawhatchee Bay, Emerald Bay is a Bob Cupp design known for its water features and bay views. The layout rewards precision more than power, and it was voted Best in Destin. It is a short drive from the Gulf Terrace and Southbay homes.
27 holes · Three nines · Semi-private
The most central course in Destin, Indian Bayou has three nines (Seminole, Choctaw and Creek) that play as 18-hole combinations. Seminole has wide fairways with water on four holes, while Choctaw is the longer nine with only two par 3s. It is the easiest course to squeeze into a beach day, and the bar and grill overlooks the course.
18 holes · Par 72 · up to 7,600+ yds · Public
Worth the drive for serious players. Doug O'Rourke built Windswept Dunes in 2004 across roughly 750 acres of coastal scrub, and white sand dunes up to 20 feet tall line many of the fairways. From the back tees it is one of the longest and toughest tests in the Panhandle, yet six sets of tees and no crowds make it enjoyable for everyone. Collared shirts required, no denim.
9 holes · Par 35 · Public
A family-friendly nine among freshwater lakes and tall pines, with strategic bunkers, water hazards and rolling greens. It is a quick round for newer golfers or a warm-up before a bigger course. Tee times book online, rental clubs are available for about $30, and the on-site golf academy offers lessons.
Tennis & pickleball
Every home we manage has tennis and pickleball courts in its community, so you can play before breakfast and still make the beach by ten.

Courts are shared with the community. Follow the posted court rules and hours, and see your house manual for access details.
Pickleball is huge on the Emerald Coast, and open play is an easy way to meet locals.
Open-play times and fees change, so check with each venue before heading over.
